Having a blog for your business is an important thing, it’s a needed part of business marketing. It is the place where you can really help your customers understand you, and you can show them your expertise as a business.
If you don’t already have a blog you need to get one setup for your business. It’s a quick thing to do, and even if you don’t feel like you personally have time to keep up on it yourself there are plenty of individuals and businesses out there that can take care of blogging for you.
If you hire someone else to do the work for you they will already know all of these things. If you’re doing it yourself then you will want to make sure that you don’t miss any of these tips.
Blog On A Regular Basis
While different articles will say different things about how often you should post on your business blog, it makes sense to post when you actually have something to say, but to make sure that you do it on a regular basis.
You should at least update your blog every couple of days, and at minimum a few days a week. Make sure that the post contain enough words to get the point across so that people are getting something out of what they are reading. Make sure that the posts are well researched, and fit with your business.
Share Links
Part of your research for blog posts should include finding credible sources that you can link within your posts. These links should be to sites that are factual, and what they need to do for your post is give people something more to read on the subjects you are covering.
You can’t say everything about any one subject in a blog posts and have people wanting to stick around and read it all. People tend to get bored after a few hundred words, so give them someplace else to look, later, when they have time, with link building.
Don’t Forego SEO
Link building is one part of your SEO tactics that can help you build more of a readership for your blog. Aside from link building you also need to be using keywords and keyword phrases. Just don’t stuff keywords.
Keywords of any kind used in a blog post need to flow naturally. Try only using them once per every hundred or so words.
Finish With A Call-To-Action
Try to finish off every blog post with a call-to-action. You can simply tell your reader what they should do next, like call for a consultation. Or you can include a button or link for them to click to purchase something, sign up for something, email with questions, or to take them to the next step in whatever your post was talking about.
