Marketing your content is just as important as having content available to begin with. When you post a blog post, but you don’t bother to share it anywhere and you don’t use keywords and link building, do people ever see it? It’s kind of like a tree falling in the forest.

Just like you can stroll through the forest and see that trees have fallen, you can use analytics to see who has viewed your blog, or how many people anyway, but that doesn’t guarantee that people are really understanding what you have to say and sharing that information with others.

Using Your Words (Keywords That Is)

Keywords are one thing (or a group of things when it comes to keyword phrases) that you can use to ensure you will be found, not just by chance. When you do the proper research to come up with credible keywords that people are looking for and that have decent, but not too much, competition, you work yourself into that front page slot on search engines, which is where every business strives to be in the internet world.

Use those keywords not just in your blogging, but also use them in your social media as well, and on your general website. For credibility, and to keep things interesting to your readers, don’t forget to work on link building too, by including links to credible sources where they can get more info on what you’re telling them.

Sharing On Social Media

Speaking of social media, marketing content has been made so much easier with all of the social media options before you. It’s really just as easy as sharing a link to your blog post with a short reason why they should read it. If they read it and enjoy it, they’ll share it on their site. Then their friends will, and so on.

Within no time you have a chance of a blog post shared via social media going viral. However, to do that you need to be telling people something they want to know, and think other people want to know. And make it entertaining.

Using Your Email

One often neglected tool for marketing your content is your email. While you don’t want to end up in people’s spam filters because you are sending them things they aren’t interested in, or emailing them far too often, you should be using this asset.

Set up a weekly or monthly newsletter and request visitors to your site sign up for it. You can then use this to share useful info with your readers, and link them back to the blog posts and other pages of your website you want them to come check out. Easy as that.
